• Q: What are the benefits of hemp-infused coffee?
• A: First off, it is important to note that the FDA has not approved any health benefits of hemp or CBD. That being said, we encourage you to do your own research and see if adding hemp-derived CBD to your daily routine might benefit you. A common effect we hear from customers can be described as coffee without the jitters, maintaining the mental effects of the caffeine while subsiding any physical ones.
• Q: Is our coffee organic?
• A: Like many of our customers, we understand the importance of promoting organic products, not just for us consumers, but also keeping in mind the farm workers and local ecology of the places from which our coffee and hemp are grown. We source both our coffee and hemp extract from only certified organic suppliers and we are currently in the process of pursuing an official USDA Organic certification. We hope to have some exciting news to share about that soon!
• Q: How much CBD will be in each cup?
• A: This is really up to you! We state how much CBD is included in each bag of coffee, but the potency of each individual cup is influenced by many factors including brew method and amount of coffee used. We recommend using a french press, stainless steel filter, or something similar as opposed to paper filters since many of the hemp and coffee oils can get caught in the paper while brewing. Play around with it and find the right balance for you!
• Q: Will you taste the CBD?
• A: We choose our coffee and roast levels carefully to best pair with our hemp extract and provide the most enjoyable cup possible for our customers. An experienced coffee sommelier might be able pick out hints of the plant-like flavor from our hemp extract. Generally, the less processed the hemp is means more of the important subcomponents remain to generate the so-called “entourage effect”, which is a holistic approach to achieving any potential benefits of hemp-derived CBD; however, less processed also means more residual plant flavor. We think we’ve found the perfect balance of pursuing holistic hemp and ensuring the most enjoyable cup possible.
• Q: How do we roast our coffee?
• A: We have partnered with Solar Roast Coffee in Pueblo, CO to utilize their expertise in the cutting-edge of coffee roasting. Many roasters use large gas-powered roasting machines that cook the beans hot and fast, but Solar Roast uses solar powered electric roasters that cook the beans low and slow resulting in a more flavorful and smoother cup of coffee.
• Q: Where do we ship?
• A: We only ship within the United States, and unfortunately not to the state of Idaho. No matter where you live, we encourage you to reach out to your elected representatives and advocate for more acceptance of hemp products.
• Q: Will the coffee make you fail a drug test?
• A: While our coffee contains only trace amounts of THC, it is theoretically possible for it to show up on a drug test. Our coffee is infused with extract made from industrial hemp, which is federally legal and tested to ensure THC content never exceeds the legal limit of 0.3%. (Our coffee has never exceeded 0.01%) We encourage our customers to do their own due diligence before purchasing.
